From the City of Warrenville comes the following information regarding upcoming road closures:
"Beginning Monday, April 16, 2012, the "southeast" leg of Batavia Road will be completely closed at Route 56 so that half of the intersection can be reconstructed as part of IDOT's Add-Lanes project. The closure will last approximately three weeks.
Prior to the closure, the contractor will install electronic changeable message signs to warn motorists. During the closure, a traffic detour will be posted with signage. The detour will direct traffic to Illinois Route 59 via Ferry Road.
Also beginning Monday, April 16, 2012,Winfield Road traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction to accommodate the reconstruction of the Winfield Road/Route 56 intersection pavement. This traffic restriction is anticipated to be in place throughout much of this spring and summer.
Warrenville's Senior Civil Engineer attends weekly construction progress meetings with IDOT, their consultant, and their contractors. If there are any questions or concerns about the project, residents should contact the Senior Civil Engineer at (630) 393-9050 or
